Ammons Middle is an officially authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). Ammons is the first authorized IBMYP School in Miami-Dade County to receive this prestigious recognition. Ammons is proud to offer the three-year MYP to all students in grades 6, 7 and 8.

Dress Code

Students are expected to wear their school navy, gold or white polo shirt (with logo) on a daily basis. Students are not to wear shorts, capri pants or leggings. They may wear jeans. Specific Fridays have been designated as Ammons T-shirt/club shirt day. Those days will be published on the monthly calendar. Sweaters and/or jackets may be worn as needed. However, hoods/caps are not permissible.

Ammons Middle School ranked 8th in the state of Florida!!!

This week marked the first time the state has ranked all of its 3,078 traditional, magnet and charter schools. Miami-Dade came in 37th out of the 67 Florida school districts, though district officials said Dade should have been 30th because it had the 30th-highest score. According to the rankings, Herbert A. Ammons Middle in southwest Miami-Dade was considered among the 10 best middle schools.
