Ammons Middle School is an International Education Magnet, Miami-Dade school of choice. The school follows the curriculum of the International Baccalaureate Organization Middle Years Programme. As a school we emphasize the principles inherent in that program as well as a rigorous curriculum while maintaining a focus on reading and technology.
Ammons opened in September 1997 and moved to its current site in September 1998.

The school was named for Herbert A. Ammons (1914-1991) who was an educator, civic activist and Boy Scout Leader in the Richmond Heights community. He was a teacher at Mays Senior High School and Homestead Junior High School. |
