About Us

We understand that the International Education Magnet is a rigorous academic program with high expectations for student achievement. We are committed to taking the steps necessary to promote success in this program, including the following:

  • being prepared for school each day with materials and supplies
  • completing class and home-learning assignments, including reading assignments
  • understanding the mission statement of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization and participating fully in the IB Middle Years Program
  • engaging in community service activities as required for each grade level
  • seeking additional help and participating in tutoring programs if necessary
  • participating in intensive reading and math instruction if FCAT level is 1 or 2
  • working hard in class, being punctual, honest and cooperative with all teachers
  • attending school regularly and avoiding disruptive behavior

We also understand that, in the Ammons Magnet Program, students are expected to achieve the following results in each course:

  • academic and conduct grades of “C”or higher
  • effort grades of 1 or 2

Students who fail to meet the listed criteria or who do not maintain the required grades will be placed on probation and required to attend weekly tutoring. Students who stay on probation will be subject to removal from the Ammons Magnet Program at the end of the school year and may be withdrawn to their home school at that time.
